I Sent a Gift and Nothing Happened — TSUMIMI TIME Gift Timing
Why a gift in Red Chat Ritual TSUMIMI TIME does nothing: it arrived after that night's stream, the wish-list item is not one of the two timed gifts, or the scene it unlocks sits on a later day.
Last updated:

A gift that produces no reaction is the most common "the game is broken" report in this game, and it is almost never a bug. The delivery system has exactly one rule that matters: a gift only counts if it lands before that evening's stream starts. Money is deducted either way, which is what makes it feel like a failure — you paid, and nothing acknowledged it.
Source note: The before-the-stream rule comes from the developer's official FAQ and was reproduced on Version 1.0.1. Deadline days (Day 4 and Day 6) are Confirmed. Whether a given wish-list item appears at all can vary by route and is marked Unverified where it matters.
Short answer
You missed the window. A gift bought on the right day but delivered after the stream is treated exactly like a gift you never bought: the money is gone, the item is gone, and the scene it was meant to unlock will not trigger for the rest of that save. The fix is not a repair, it is a reload — and if the deadline has passed, the run continues without that scene.
This is the one failure in the game that gives you no error message. No prompt, no log entry, no greyed-out item. The only way to catch it is to check your day against the deadline before you buy, which is what the gift timing calculator exists for.
Check these in order
Work down this table rather than jumping to the one you suspect. The rows are ordered by how often they turn out to be the cause.
| # | Symptom | Most likely cause | How to verify | Fix |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Money left your balance, no reaction, no scene | Delivered after that night's stream | Compare the delivery moment with the stream start on the same day | Reload an earlier save; if the deadline passed, continue without that scene |
| 2 | Gift was sent on the right day and before the stream, still nothing | It is not one of the two timed gifts | Only the potato gun (Day 4) and stun gun (Day 6) have confirmed scene triggers | Expected behaviour — most wish-list items have no scripted reaction |
| 3 | Delivery seemed to work, the scene appeared days later | The scene is scheduled for a later day, not the same night | Check the walkthrough day list | Nothing to fix; you are early rather than late |
| 4 | Gift is not in the wish list at all | Wish-list contents can vary by route | Compare against another save at the same day | Unverified — reported by players, not reproduced by us |
| 5 | Gift delivered correctly but the keyword never appeared | The reaction happened; the keyword needed investigating | Check the archive for a new file after the scene | Read the reply thread — see keyword not registering |
Row 2 is the one that surprises people. The wish list is much longer than the list of gifts that actually do something. Buying a gift because it looks plot-relevant is not the same as buying one with a trigger attached, and the game does not distinguish between them in the shop UI.
What the two timed gifts actually unlock
| Gift | Deadline | What you get | What you lose by missing it | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Potato gun | Before the Day 4 stream | The Day 5 newspaper scene and its keyword | A keyword, and therefore the file that fills a later blank | Confirmed |
| Stun gun | Before the Day 6 stream | The Day 7 floor-check option | That option, for the rest of the save | Confirmed |
| Any other wish-list item | No confirmed deadline | No confirmed scripted scene | Unknown | Unverified |
Two rows, and that is genuinely all that has been confirmed. A page that lists deadlines for ten gifts is a page that invented eight of them.
Day by day: is your window still open?
Two deadlines exist, so there are only ever four states to be in. Find your day, and ignore the rest of the table.
| Your current day | Timed gifts still reachable | What to do right now |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 to Day 3 | Both | Buy the potato gun and hold it until you are ready to deliver before the Day 4 stream |
| Day 4, before the stream | Potato gun — last chance | Deliver it today, before the stream starts |
| Day 4, after the stream | Stun gun only | Accept the Day 5 newspaper scene is gone; plan the stun gun for Day 6 |
| Day 5 | Stun gun only | Buy it now if funds allow, deliver before the Day 6 stream |
| Day 6, before the stream | Stun gun — last chance | Deliver it today, before the stream starts |
| Day 6, after the stream | None | No timed gift remains; check whether the floor option appeared on Day 7 |
| Day 7 to Day 15 | None | Nothing left to buy that changes a branch — spend on nothing, or on dialogue |
Read the "after the stream" rows carefully. They are the states people are actually in when they search for this page, and none of them can be fixed by buying something else. The only repair is reloading a save from before the deadline, which costs you the days in between.
Why the game does not warn you
The design decision here is deliberate and it is consistent with the rest of the loop: the game never tells you that a keyword is not evidence either. Both failures are silent by construction, and both are recoverable only by knowing the rule beforehand.
That is an unusual choice for a commercial game, and it explains a good chunk of the negative reviews. If you want the design rationale rather than the fix, the gameplay page covers why money and timing carry the difficulty, and the endings hub shows what a missed scene actually costs you in branch terms.
If none of that worked
Three remaining possibilities, in order of likelihood.
You are looking at the wrong scene. A gift's effect may not be a cutscene at all — it may be a line of dialogue, a change in a later stream, or an option that quietly becomes selectable. Check the option list at the next deduction rather than looking for a cinematic.
The save is older than the patch. Version 1.0.1 raised starting funds and added Ctrl fast-forward. If your save was started before 23 October, the money side behaves differently from current guides, which can make a delivery sequence impossible in a way it no longer is. The release hub has the dated changelog.
It is the wish-list availability issue. Some players report an item not appearing at all on a given route. We could not reproduce this, so it stays a report. The open questions page tracks it, including what we tried.

Can I resend a gift that did not work?
You can send another gift, but not the same outcome. The window for that specific scene has closed for the save. Reloading an earlier save is the only way to get it back.
Does the money come back if the gift fails?
No. The purchase is final whether or not the delivery lands in time. That is why the calculator exists — checking costs nothing, and a missed deadline costs both the money and the scene.
Which gifts actually do something?
Only two have confirmed scene triggers: the potato gun before the Day 4 stream and the stun gun before the Day 6 stream. Others may affect dialogue in ways we have not confirmed, and we do not list dates we cannot verify.
Is sending a gift before the stream enough, or does it need to be a specific hour?
Before the stream starts is the confirmed rule. We did not observe any finer window than that, and the game clock advances in day blocks, so there is no hour-level cut-off we could test.
Why did my gift scene appear three days later?
Because some reactions are scheduled against a later day rather than the same night. Check the walkthrough's day list before concluding the delivery failed.
