Open Questions — What We Still Can't Confirm About TSUMIMI TIME
Seven things we could not confirm about Red Chat Ritual TSUMIMI TIME, each with what we tried, the best current answer and a confidence rating. Written down instead of guessed at.
Last updated:

Every guide site has gaps. Most hide them by writing around them, which is how a wrong answer becomes a permanent one: someone guesses, someone copies, and two years later the guess is the only version indexed. This page takes the opposite approach — it lists what we could not confirm, what we actually tried, and how confident we are in the best answer we have.
Source note: Everything below was attempted on Version 1.0.1 between 23 and 24 October 2026. A Confirmed rating means we reproduced it more than once. Observed means we saw it but could not isolate the cause. Unverified means the official text does not settle it and our attempts failed. Nothing here is upgraded by repetition in other guides.
The seven gaps at a glance
If you only need one row, take it from here. The sections below each gap carry the method and the reasoning; this table carries the answer and how much weight it deserves.
| # | The question | Best answer we have | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Which deduction answer maps to which ending | The final blank decides it; some combinations collapse to the same ending, so it looks scored rather than selected | Observed |
| 2 | Whether End 5 (EXTRA) is a main-line ending | Terminates the run and awards an achievement, but sits outside the arc the other eight describe | Unverified |
| 3 | How many investigation files exist in total | More than one thorough run produces — no total we can defend | Unverified |
| 4 | Whether wish-list contents are route-dependent | They vary at least partly; no deterministic rule found | Observed |
| 5 | What exactly triggers the Day 7 floor check | The stun gun before the Day 6 stream; skipping the stream may be a second precondition | Observed |
| 6 | Whether Mega Chat tone is scored continuously or by threshold | Tone outweighs price, but the scoring model is not visible from outside | Observed |
| 7 | Whether the village's belief system is supernatural in-fiction | Deliberately ambiguous, and kept consistent across branches rather than resolved | Observed |
Two rows are Unverified and five are Observed. Not one is Confirmed — that is the honest state of a game that has been out for two days, and it is the reason this page exists rather than seven confident paragraphs.
How to read the confidence ratings
The three labels are not decoration. Each one implies a different amount of work behind it, and a different amount of trust you should extend.
| Rating | What it means | What earns it | Rows on this page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Confirmed | Reproduced more than once, from a clean state, with the same result | Two or more independent runs agreeing, or official text that states it outright | 0 |
| Observed | Seen directly, cause not isolated | One run where the effect appeared and no competing explanation survived | 5 |
| Unverified | Official text is silent and our attempts failed | Documented attempt, documented failure, no answer promoted anyway | 2 |
The gap between Observed and Confirmed is where most guide sites quietly cheat: a single sighting gets written up as a mechanic, because "we saw it once" reads as weaker than "this is how it works". We keep the label because the difference is real — the Day 7 cause below was Observed for a full day before a second save turned it into something we would call reliable.
1. Which deduction answer maps to which ending
What we tried. Nine endings means nine branch outcomes, and the natural assumption is that each final blank has one answer that routes to one ending. We tested three saves through the final chapter with deliberately different blank combinations, and cross-referenced the resulting achievement against Steam's ending label.
Best current answer. The final deduction result decides the ending, and a single wrong blank routes the run to End 8 (INFERENCE FAILED). Beyond that, the mapping is not one-to-one: some combinations produced the same ending, which suggests the result is scored rather than selected.
Confidence. Observed. Three saves is not enough to publish a full mapping table, and we would rather show the nine official labels than a nine-row table we invented.
2. Whether End 5 (EXTRA) counts as a main-line ending
What we tried. The achievement is named EXTRA, its label is End 5, and its description reads like a joke credit — "Tsumimi Time Part 1 -End-, To Be Continued in Space War Arc?". We reached it once and compared the post-ending state against the other branches.
Best current answer. It behaves like an ending (it terminates the run and records an achievement) but sits outside the arc the other eight describe. It is 2.7% of players, the second rarest ending.
Confidence. Unverified. Nothing in the official text says whether it is main-line, and one playthrough cannot distinguish "extra branch" from "poorly written final branch".
3. How many investigation files exist in total
What we tried. We counted every file in our archive at the end of a thorough run, then compared it against the All Survey File Acquired achievement, which sits at 0.4% — the rarest achievement in the game, rarer than any ending.
Best current answer. The count is higher than a single thorough run produces, because the achievement is rarer than finishing any branch. We do not have a total we can defend.
Confidence. Unverified. This is why no page on this site puts a number in its title for files. A page that says "all 42 files" and is wrong is worse than a page that says "every file".
4. Whether wish-list contents are route-dependent
What we tried. We compared wish lists across three saves at the same in-game day, then compared notes against player reports of the stun gun not appearing.
Best current answer. Contents appear to vary, at least partly. We could not produce a deterministic rule, and we could not reproduce a save where the stun gun was entirely absent.
Confidence. Observed for variation, Unverified for the specific missing-stun-gun report. The gift calculator therefore answers timing questions only — it will not tell you whether an item will show up.
5. What triggers the Day 7 floor check, exactly
What we tried. The stun gun before the Day 6 stream is documented and reproduces reliably. We then tried skipping the Day 6 stream with the gift delivered, to see whether the option survives.
Best current answer. The gift is the confirmed precondition. Skipping the stream may be a second, independent precondition — we saw the option missing after a skipped stream, but the same save also had an ambiguous delivery.
Confidence. Observed. Documented in the Day 7 troubleshooting page as a second possible cause rather than a rule.
6. Whether Mega Chat tone is scored continuously or by threshold
What we tried. We sent the same tone at different intensities across chapters and recorded whether the branch moved. The game gives visible feedback on her reaction but no numeric state.
Best current answer. Tone matters more than price — a cheap, well-matched message can outperform an expensive, badly matched one. Whether that is a continuous score or a set of thresholds, we cannot tell from outside.
Confidence. Observed. The practical advice on the streamer guidance page is written to be correct under either model.
7. Whether the village's belief system is supernatural in-fiction
What we tried. We read every document we could collect across two runs and compared the language used about the ritual, the disappearances and the village's history.
Best current answer. The game is deliberately ambiguous, and it keeps the ambiguity consistent across branches rather than resolving it in one. Both readings — supernatural practice and human delusion — are supported by text the game shows you.
Confidence. Observed for the ambiguity, Unverified for either resolution. This is interpretation, not mechanics, and the lore page presents both readings without choosing.
What would actually close these gaps
"Let us know if you know more" is not a request anyone can act on. The table below is the version that is: for each gap, the specific evidence that would move it a level, and what we would do with it.
| Gap | Evidence that would close it | What it changes |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Blank-to-ending mapping | Four or more saves reaching the final chapter with one blank varied at a time, plus the achievement each produced | Becomes a full mapping table instead of a one-rule answer |
| 2. End 5's status | Official text that calls it main-line, or a developer note — a second playthrough will not settle it | Either promoted into the ending order or moved to a side-branch page |
| 3. Total file count | A completed save with the 0.4% achievement unlocked, and the archive screen it shows | A titled count on the files pages, which we currently refuse to publish |
| 4. Wish-list dependence | Two saves on the same in-game day with different wish lists, both fully documented | Turns "they vary" into the actual rule |
| 5. Day 7 preconditions | A save that skipped the Day 6 stream with an unambiguous gift delivery, and the floor check still appeared | Separates the two causes, or merges them into one |
| 6. Tone scoring | Nothing available to a player — this may stay open permanently | No practical change; the advice holds either way |
| 7. Supernatural framing | Author commentary, if any exists | Would let the lore page choose a reading instead of presenting both |
Row 6 is the tell. Some gaps are open because the evidence is expensive to gather, and some are open because the game never exposes the answer. Sorting them into those two groups is more useful than a single list, because only the first group is worth anyone's time.
Why this page is not a disclaimer
A generic "content may not be accurate" footer tells you nothing and protects nobody. A list of seven specific gaps, with the method used to attack each and a rating for the answer, tells you exactly how much weight to put on what you just read — which is the only thing a reader can actually use.
If you can close one of these gaps, the report is welcome. What makes a report actionable here is the same three things every time: which day, which save state, and what you observed rather than what you concluded. The community section explains where those reports get read.

Why publish a list of things you don't know?
Because the alternative is guessing, and a guess that gets copied becomes indistinguishable from a fact. Seven named gaps with confidence ratings are more useful than seven confident-sounding paragraphs that happen to be wrong.
Will these ever be answered?
Some will. The blank-to-ending mapping is the most likely to be closed, because enough saves exist that a pattern should emerge. The supernatural ambiguity probably never will be — that looks intentional.
Can I contribute an answer?
Yes, if it is specific. Which day, which save state, what you observed. Reports that describe a conclusion without the state that produced it cannot be checked.
Does this mean the guides are unreliable?
It means you can tell which parts are which. Every page carries a source note, and claims are marked inline. The mechanics pages are reproduced; the interpretation pages are labelled as interpretation.
