End 5 (EXTRA)
End 8 (INFERENCE FAILED)
Nine achievements are endings. That number surprises people because the store page and most coverage talk about "multiple endings" without a count, and because the official labels are not descriptive — they are End 1 through End 8, plus one labelled End 404. The numbers are internal identifiers, not a ranking: the ending labelled End 8 is what 55% of players get, and the one labelled End 404 is a joke label for the worst outcome.
So before anything else: the number in the name tells you nothing about quality, difficulty, or unlock order. This page is organised by what each ending actually is, using the official descriptions verbatim.
Source note: Ending labels, descriptions and global unlock rates are read directly from Steam's public achievement API for AppID 4413070 and stored in this repository. Unlock conditions marked Observed come from our own playthroughs on Version 1.0.1; Unverified means the official text does not settle it and we could not reproduce a community claim.
All nine endings, with official text
This is the table other pages on the site are built from. The middle column is the official description, unedited, because it is the only ending text the developer has published.
| Official label | Internal name | Global rate | Official description | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| End 8 | INFERENCE FAILED | 55.0% | The ending with growing regret | Confirmed |
| End 6 | LIVESTREAM BLOCKED | 33.0% | The ending where the obstacle was blocked | Confirmed |
| End 7 | DIED INSTANTLY | 17.8% | The ending where the obstacle was eliminated | Confirmed |
| End 404 | ALL BAD | 16.1% | The ending where everyone was gone | Confirmed |
| End 4 | NORMAL | 10.9% | The ending of wishing for their happiness | Confirmed |
| End 1 | SUPER TRUE | 8.0% | The ending where Tsumimi was stabbed | Confirmed |
| End 2 | TRUE | 7.8% | The ending where Tsumimi was not stabbed | Confirmed |
| End 3 | NORMAL GOOD | 2.8% | The ending of facing one's sins | Confirmed |
| End 5 | EXTRA | 2.7% | Tsumimi Time Part 1 -End-, To Be Continued in Space War Arc? | Unverified |
Two rows in that table are worth staring at. End 8 at 55% means more than half of all players finish on the failure branch — the deduction, not the story, is the real difficulty. And End 1 at 8.0% sits above End 2 at 7.8%, which is the opposite of what "super true vs true" implies if you read the internal names as a quality ladder.
The three you should not chase first
If you are going for a specific ending, start from the branch you can control, not from the rarest label.
End 8 (INFERENCE FAILED, 55.0%) is what happens when the final deduction is wrong. It is not a punishment screen — it is a full ending with its own description, and most players reach it because one blank had no matching file. The file won't appear page exists specifically for that cause.
End 5 (EXTRA, 2.7%) carries a description that reads like a joke credit — "To Be Continued in Space War Arc?" — and the achievement name EXTRA suggests it sits outside the main line. We could not confirm whether it counts toward the main ending set, so it is marked Unverified and excluded from the unlock order below.
End 404 (ALL BAD, 16.1%) is labelled like a web error on purpose. Its description, "the ending where everyone was gone", tells you what it is without telling you how to reach it, and we will not fill that gap with a guess.
Unlock order, as far as it can be stated
A save can only carry one chapter-end deduction result, so you cannot collect all nine in one run. What we can say with confidence is the shape:
- Chapter 1 sets the first blank, and the file that fills it comes from the Day 4 gift scene or the daytime search phase — see the walkthrough.
- Chapter 2 adds a second blank whose candidate set depends on which Mega Chats you paid for. The Mega Chat guidance covers tone matching.
- The final deduction converts the accumulated result into one of the nine endings. Getting it right is what separates the 55% from everyone else.
- Endings are recorded per save, so a second run needs a separate file. Nothing carries over.
What we cannot state: the exact blank-by-blank mapping from answer to ending. The game does not show it, and the achievements only confirm which ending you landed on after the fact. The all endings page walks through what we could observe, and the open questions page lists this as an unresolved item.
Which ending should you aim for?
The honest answer depends on what you want out of the game, and the three useful play styles split cleanly.
| You want | Target | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The main story, once | End 2 (TRUE, 7.8%) | The description is the plainest resolution: Tsumimi survives |
| The version most players miss | End 1 (SUPER TRUE, 8.0%) | Slightly rarer than TRUE, and the description inverts it |
| Completion | All nine, across saves | The achievement table shows which are within reach |
| To stop dying at the last gate | Any non-End-8 outcome | Fix the missing file first, not the ending choice |
The true ending page handles End 2 in detail, including what the description does and does not promise. The endings overview page compares the set as a whole.
Reading the rates correctly
A rate is the share of all owners who have the achievement, not the share of people trying for it. On a two-day-old release the denominator is small and moving, which has two consequences:
- Rates drift upward for weeks. End 5 at 2.7% today may be 4% next month without anything about the ending changing.
- Rare does not mean hard. The four rarest rows in the whole achievement list are collection achievements, not endings — All Survey File Acquired sits at 0.4%, seven times rarer than the rarest ending. Reaching an ending is a story decision; collecting everything is a search problem.
The achievement rates page re-sorts all sixteen by rate and links each one to the page that explains it, and the player count page shows how many people are generating those numbers right now.
Saves, patches and what changes between runs
Two mechanical facts decide how you should plan a collection run, and neither is stated anywhere in the game.
Nothing crosses between saves. The full walkthrough explains the day structure, but the part that matters here is the boundary: a run ends with one deduction result, and that result is what the achievement records. Starting a second run does not inherit files, money, or unlocked Mega Chat options from the first. Practically, that means "collect the endings" is a scheduling problem — you decide which branch each run is for before you start it, not after.
Version 1.0.1 changed the economy, not the branches. The patch raised starting funds and added Ctrl fast-forward. Neither alters which ending a deduction produces, so a route that worked before 23 October still produces the same ending after it. What changed is how much slack you have to gather the required files, which is why older coverage reads as harsher than the game now feels. The release hub has the dated patch list.
If you are chasing a specific ending and the run collapses before the final chapter, the problem is almost never the ending choice itself. It is a missing file, a missed gift, or a Mega Chat budget spent on the wrong tone. The gift calculator and the Mega Chat guidance exist to remove the first two causes; the third is a judgement call the game does not make for you.
Where the rest of the answer lives
Endings are the destination, not the whole map. Five other places on this site answer the questions that come up while working towards one.
- Story section — who Tsumimi and Mashiro are, and what the plot summary says about the arc each ending closes.
- Guide section — the loop itself, starting with the beginner guide and the gameplay breakdown.
- Troubleshooting — including stuck on Day 7, which is the single most common reason a run never reaches an ending at all.
- Open questions — the blank-to-ending mapping we could not confirm, written up rather than glossed over.
- Community section — where players compare routes, and why any list you find there should be treated as a lead.
Everything above is free to read and requires no account. If you are still deciding whether the ending structure justifies the purchase, the demo hub explains what the free build shows and the Steam notes cover the store details.
If you only remember one thing
The ending is decided at the final deduction, and the final deduction is decided by whether you have the right file — not by which option sounds most dramatic. Everything in the guide section that looks like busywork, the searching and the gift timing, is really about making that one screen winnable.
How many endings does TSUMIMI TIME have?
Nine ending achievements, labelled End 1 to End 8 plus End 404. Whether End 5 counts as a main-line ending is unconfirmed, which is why our tables separate it out rather than folding it into the count.
Which ending is the true ending?
The achievement named TRUE is labelled End 2, described as "the ending where Tsumimi was not stabbed", and 7.8% of players have it. The achievement named SUPER TRUE is End 1 at 8.0% — slightly more common, and its description says the opposite.
Why do most players get the bad ending?
End 8, INFERENCE FAILED, sits at 55.0%. It is reached by getting the final deduction wrong, and the usual reason is a missing investigation file rather than a wrong guess. The file troubleshooting page covers the fix.
Can I see every ending in one playthrough?
No. Each save carries one deduction result per chapter, so collecting all nine takes multiple runs. The achievement rates page shows All Endings Completed at 2.2%, which is a reasonable estimate of how many players actually did it.
Are the ending names official?
Only the labels End 1 to End 8 and End 404 are official, plus the descriptions quoted above. Names like TRUE, SUPER TRUE and ALL BAD are the internal achievement identifiers exposed by Steam, not titles the game shows you.
